For the first time in history, Ukrainian track and field athletes secured a double podium finish in the women’s high jump at the World Indoor Championships. Yaroslava Mahuchikh became world champion, while Yulia Levchenko won the silver medal.

This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

At the World Championships in Toruń, Poland, Mahuchikh won with a jump of 2.01 m, becoming the only finalist to clear that height.

For Mahuchikh, this is her second gold medal at the World Indoor Championships following her victory in Belgrade in 2022.

Yulia Levchenko won her first medal at the World Indoor Championships. She shared the silver with Australia’s Nicola Olislagers and Serbia’s Angelina Topić—all three cleared 1.99 m on their first attempt.
