Ukraine plans to produce interceptors for Patriot systems jointly with the US defence company Raytheon. The parties also discussed other areas of cooperation involving non-offensive military equipment.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this after meeting with the company’s leadership.

Today, Zelenskyy met with a team from the US company Raytheon, led by Vice President Joseph DeAntona, whose equipment Ukraine has long used to protect people from Russian attacks.

“I am grateful for the company’s readiness to take our partnership to an even higher level, with Ukraine jointly producing with Raytheon some of the most important air defence assets — interceptors for Patriots,” Zelenskyy said.

He noted that he had discussed the issue with US President Donald Trump in Ankara.

“It is time to move in this direction,” the president added.

The meeting also covered other areas of partnership, including military equipment not intended for offensive operations. The teams on both sides — at the government level and in the private sector — will remain in close contact to work through all the details.
