On the night of August 13, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refining complex in the city of Salavat, Bashkortostan. A fire was recorded on the territory of the facility.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The facility is located about 1,300 km from Ukraine’s state border.
Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is one of Russia’s largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes. Its hydrocarbon processing capacity is up to 10 million tonnes per year.
The facility produces motor gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene and other petroleum products and polymers. The complex is involved in supplying Russia’s occupation forces.
