        Ukraine and Qatar sign 10-year defense cooperation agreement

        Ukraine and Qatar have signed a 10-year intergovernmental agreement on defense cooperation. The deal was reached during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting with the Emir of Qatar in Doha.

        This was reported by the Office of the President. The meeting was also attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

        The leaders discussed the results of the Ukrainian team’s work in Qatar and ways to enhance the protection of lives in both countries. They agreed on mutually beneficial defense cooperation for at least 10 years.

        Special attention was given to the security situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region. The discussions focused on building integrated systems capable of protecting lives and preventing escalation.

        Zelenskyy briefed his counterpart on the situation in Ukraine and stressed the need to strengthen air defense. Ukraine expects support from its partners in this area.

        Following the meeting, the chiefs of the general staffs of both countries signed the agreement. It includes cooperation in defense industry and technologies, air defense, counter-drone systems, military training, experience sharing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and command systems.

        The agreement also предусматривает joint projects, co-production and technological partnerships between companies, laying the groundwork for long-term investments and contracts.
