        Trust in Zelenskyy has risen amid deteriorating relations between Ukraine and the US

        Ukrainians’ confidence in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has increased amid deteriorating relations between Ukraine and the United States. While in early February, 57% of citizens expressed confidence in the head of state, as of early March, this figure reached 68%.

        This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

        As of the first half of February 2025, before the deterioration of relations between Ukraine and the United States, 57% of Ukrainians trusted Zelenskyy, while 37% did not. The balance of trust and distrust was +20%.

        Between 14 February and 4 March, the level of trust in the head of state increased to 67%, while the share of those who distrusted him decreased to 29%. Accordingly, the balance of trust and distrust improved to +38%.

        The study also showed that the level of trust in Zelenskyy is consistently high in all regions of the country. The lowest rate was recorded in the East – 60% of support against 36% of distrust. In other regions (West, Centre, South), trust ranges from 66-69%.

        The survey was conducted by telephone interviews among 1,029 respondents aged 18 and older who live in the government-controlled areas. The statistical error does not exceed 4.1%.
