        Trilateral talks in the UAE: Zelenskyy says Donbas will be the key issue

        The trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia in Abu Dhabi will focus on the issue of Donbas. The talks will last two days, on 23 and 24 January.

        Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the key topic of the talks, which begin today, during a conversation with journalists. According to him, the issue of Donbas will be discussed in a three-party format during meetings in the United Arab Emirates.

        Zelenskyy noted that he is in constant contact with the head of the Ukrainian negotiating team, Rustem Umerov, who will keep him informed about the progress of the talks and possible agreements. The president added that the Ukrainian side will share information about the results of the consultations.

        Two days of talks between representatives of Ukraine, the United States and Russia will begin on 23 January in Abu Dhabi. Prior to this, the United States held separate bilateral consultations with Kyiv and Moscow. The Kremlin reported that during talks with the American side, Putin again voiced claims regarding Ukrainian territories and raised the issue of using Russian assets frozen in the United States to ‘restore’ the occupied lands.
