The Verkhovna Rada has adopted the draft state budget for 2025. The bill was supported by 257 MPs.
According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, all taxes of citizens and businesses next year will be primarily directed to the defense and security of our country.
The document envisages record expenditures of UAH 3.94 trillion, of which defense spending is UAH 2.22 trillion. Revenues are estimated at UAH 2.3 trillion.
A record amount of UAH 2.23 trillion will be allocated for these needs. Of this amount, UAH 739 billion will be allocated for the production and purchase of weapons, modernization of the defense industry, and purchase of drones.
The second priority will be to help citizens. UAH 421 billion is allocated for social programs, including pension indexation in March.
UAH 199 billion will be allocated for education and UAH 217 billion for healthcare. UAH 10.7 billion will be allocated to upgrade medical facilities, equipment, and create rehabilitation centers. UAH 17.5 billion is allocated for the modernization of educational institutions and the construction of shelters.
The resources of local budgets will increase by 15% in 2025, which will provide support to regions and communities.
Shmyhal emphasized that this budget defines key priorities: defense, support for people, and development and restoration of the country.
