On the night of 7 September, the Special Operations Forces, in cooperation with the resistance group in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, ‘Chernaya Iskra’ (Black Spark), carried out special operations at the oil refinery named after A. A. Shamar in Ilsky.
‘At 2 a.m., thanks to the well-planned actions of the Special Operations Forces and representatives of Chernaya Iskra, the main facility that ensures the functioning of the entire refinery, namely YELOU-AT-6, was destroyed,’ the Special Operations Forces Command said in a statement.
YELOU-AT-6 is a primary oil refining complex with a capacity of 6 million tonnes of crude oil per year. This facility dewaters and desalinates crude oil and then distils it into fractions to obtain various petroleum products, such as petrol and diesel fuel.
