By order of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a working group has been set up to thoroughly investigate the circumstances described in a social media post by the commander of the 47th Mechanised Brigade.

This was reported on the General Staff’s official account on social network X.

‘The orders and instructions received from various levels of military command will be analysed in detail to determine the appropriateness of the decisions taken in the current combat situation.

Appropriate decisions will be taken based on the results of the investigation,’ the statement said.

Recall that the commander of one of the battalions of the 47th separate mechanised brigade ‘Magura,’ Alexander Shirsin, announced that he had submitted a report requesting his dismissal from office.

According to the military officer, the reasons for his decision were, as he claims, ineffective management decisions, ill-conceived combat tasks and the command’s disregard for the real state of affairs. He called the situation in the area where his unit was operating a ‘senseless loss of life’ and criticised the actions of the general staff.

Journalist Yuriy Butusov, commenting on the commander’s post, called on the senior military leadership to provide an official assessment of the situation.

In his opinion, Shyrshyn’s public statement is not only a protest by an officer, but also an alarming signal for the army and society.
