The commander of a battalion within the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Magura”, Oleksandr Shyrshyn, has announced that he has submitted a resignation report. He shared the news on his Facebook page.

According to the officer, his decision was prompted by what he described as ineffective leadership decisions, poorly thought-out combat tasks, and a disregard for the actual situation by higher command. He called the situation on the front, where his unit has been operating, a “senseless loss of personnel” and sharply criticized the military leadership.

“All they’re capable of is reprimands, investigations, and disciplinary actions. They can all go to hell,” Shyrshyn wrote, adding that he submitted the report and hopes to be dismissed soon.

He also expressed hope that he will soon be able to share more details with journalist friends.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not officially commented on the matter.
