Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that measures have been taken to transition to a corps structure of the army. He said this following a meeting on the activities of the Armed Forces in January 2025.
According to him, the situation at the front remains difficult, but the Ukrainian military continues to effectively destroy enemy targets, including in Russia. The main priorities include operations in the Kursk region and the destruction of military facilities deep in the country of the aggressor.
The main areas of work are as follows
- Strengthening defence and preventing the enemy’s advance
- Saturation of advanced units with personnel and equipment
- Recruitment and psychological stability of the military
- Adaptation of newcomers before they are involved in combat operations
- Increasing the unmanned component
Syrskyi also noted that in January, they managed to increase the number of units being withdrawn to restore combat capability and plan further activities.
‘February will not be easy for our troops, but the enemy will have a hard time as well,’ the Commander-in-Chief stressed.
