President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to Russia’s overnight attack on Odesa on March 28. He said the strike had no military purpose and was aimed at civilians.

As Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated, Russian forces used more than 60 attack drones during the strike on the city. He described it as “pure terror against ordinary civilian life.”

According to the president, a maternity hospital, residential buildings, businesses, port facilities and critical infrastructure were damaged. Ukrainian services continue working on the ground to assist those affected.

At the time of the statement, one person was confirmed dead and more than ten were injured, including a child. Later, Oleg Kipper, head of the Odessa Regional Administration, reported that rescue workers had found the body of another man; in total, two people were killed and 12 others were injured.

Overnight strikes were also reported in the Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Zelenskyy said each such attack shows that Russia does not want to end the war. He stressed the need to maintain pressure on Russia and coordinate international efforts to protect Ukraine.
