Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Oleksandr Syrskyy visited the units involved in combat operations in the Kursk direction.

He noted the importance of this area because of the high concentration of enemy forces.

“If not for the steadfastness of our soldiers, these tens of thousands of enemies from the best Russian strike units would have stormed our positions in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhovsk or Toretsk directions, which would have significantly worsened the situation on the front,” Syrsky said.

Now Russian troops, on the orders of their commanders, continue to try to dislodge Ukrainian units and advance deep into Ukrainian-controlled territory.

According to Syrsky, the task of Ukrainian forces in this direction is to contain the enemy and inflict maximum losses on him.

“Therefore, my work was devoted to assisting commanders in organizing combat operations, increasing the effectiveness of fire defeat of the enemy and solving the issues of comprehensive support and preparation of reserves,” the commander-in-chief concluded.

Earlier, media reported that Russia has gathered 50,000 military personnel, including North Korean soldiers, who are preparing to launch a counteroffensive to retake parts of the Kursk region.
