Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky said that stabilising the situation in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad operation area depends on the coordinated work of military command and all units performing combat tasks in this direction.

Syrsky visited the Pokrovsk direction and, together with the commanders, analysed the results of the implementation of previous decisions and planned further actions. According to him, this direction remains the main one in the context of the offensive actions of the Russian troops. It is here that the largest number of daily assaults are recorded, and a significant part of the enemy group is concentrated.

The Russians are trying to take advantage of the difficult weather conditions, but Ukrainian units continue to hold back the advance of the occupiers. The main tasks of the defenders remain taking control of specific areas, holding and defending existing logistics routes, creating additional supply routes, and ensuring the smooth evacuation of the wounded.

On the outskirts of Pokrovsk and in the city, there’s a constant battle with small enemy assault groups and the occasional use of light equipment.

Search and strike operations are also continuing in the Ocheretinsky direction: over the past seven days, Defence Forces units have cleared 7.4 square kilometres of territory in the Pokrovsk district of Russian sabotage groups.

Syrskyi emphasised that there is no question of Russian control over Pokrovsk or the operational encirclement of Ukrainian forces. The fighting continues.
