A meeting of the Supreme Commander’s Headquarters was held to review the military and political situation and assess the adversary’s prospects in the first half of 2026. Particular focus was placed on the drone and technological components, and an intelligence briefing was heard.

The update was provided by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.

He said the meeting also examined the Defense Forces’ capacity to expand their unmanned component. As a result, decisions were made to increase the effectiveness of the “Drone Line,” strengthen command and control, and ensure it is supplied with the necessary resources.

The Ministry of Defense was instructed to streamline and ensure a clear allocation of funds among strike assets, as well as to identify additional financial options to cover urgent Defense Forces needs. Special emphasis was also placed on scaling up the production of fiber-optic drones, taking into account range and strike accuracy.

The NSDC stressed that unmanned technologies are among the key factors in deterring the enemy, and that the Headquarters’ decisions are aimed at systematically strengthening this capability.
