Today, 25 December, a Russian UAV struck a five-storey residential building in Chernihiv. One person was killed and several others were injured.
This was reported by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi.
According to the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, an 80-year-old woman was killed. Eight more people were injured. Three of them are in serious condition.
‘The drone hit an apartment on the third floor. The damage is significant. Rescue operations are ongoing. Firefighters are extinguishing the fire. All relevant services are working. Volunteers. A crisis centre has been set up on site,’ the report said.
The building was destroyed from the fourth to the second floor. A fire broke out. Firefighting and debris removal are ongoing. All services are working at the scene.
Emergency services rescued four residents and evacuated nine others from the building.
