Today, October 6, at around 11:30 a.m., a Russian drone struck a perinatal center in Sumy. One female employee of the medical facility is known to have been injured.
This was reported by Ihor Kalchenko, head of the Sumy Regional State Administration.
“An hour before that, an air raid alert was declared in the Sumy district, so the medics acted professionally and evacuated all patients to shelters in advance,” Kalchenko said.
A 60-year-old medical worker suffered an acute stress reaction as a result of the explosion and was treated on the spot.
The drone hit the roof of the building, causing a fire. Rescuers have already extinguished the fire.
