On the night of September 1, Russian forces carried out ballistic missile strikes on a railway depot and other railway infrastructure facilities in Kyiv. Seven people were killed in the attack, including six Ukrzaliznytsia employees, while another railway worker remains in hospital.

This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi.

According to him, dozens of employees managed to take shelter and survived the attack.

The strikes caused significant destruction. One workshop was completely destroyed, while several fires broke out at the site and are being extinguished by rescuers.

Train traffic on two sections was temporarily suspended because of the attack, but was later restored.

Pertsovskyi said Ukrzaliznytsia is supporting the families of the employees who were killed, as well as the injured worker, who is receiving the necessary medical care.
