As of 16:00 on 18 January, the situation on the frontline remains tense. Ukraine’s defence forces continue to deter the Russian aggressor’s offensive, destroying enemy personnel and equipment. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the day, 89 combat engagements have been recorded. The occupants are most active in the Pokrovsk sector.
Artillery shelling and attacks in various sectors
Kharkіv region:
The community of Tymofiivka was hit by Russian artillery fire. In the Kharkiv sector, five attacks were registered in the area of Vovchansk.
Kupyansk sector:
The enemy conducted four attacks in the areas of Petropavlivka, Lozova and Pishchane. The town of Hlushkivka was hit by a guided aerial bomb attack.
Lyman sector:
The enemy carried out nine attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Pershotravneve, Kopanky, Novoyehorivka, Novosadove, Novolyubivka and Zarichne. Four firefights are ongoing.
Kramatorsk sector:
Four attacks were registered in the areas of Chasovyi Yar and Stupochki. The enemy dropped two guided aerial bombs on Markove.
Toretsk sector:
Intense fighting continues: 16 attacks were registered in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 10 of them, fighting continues.
Chernihiv and Sumy regions:
Artillery and mortar attacks were recorded in Zaliznyi Most (Chernihiv region) and in Popivka, Sosnivka and Prohres (Sumy region).
