Russians attacked Ukraine with more than 180 missiles and drones: how the air defense system responded

On the night of December 25, the Russian occupiers carried out a combined attack on the fuel and energy sector of Ukraine.

The Russians used air-, land-, and sea-based missiles, as well as strike drones, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

A total of 184 enemy air targets were detected by radio engineering troops.

As of 12.00, 113 air targets were confirmed to have been shot down:

  • 55 out of 62 Kh-101, X-55cm, Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • 4 out of 4 X-59/X-69 guided missiles;
  • 54 out of 106 UAVs, 52 more did not reach their targets (lost in the field).

Russians also attacked Ukraine:

  • 2 KN-23 ballistic missiles;
  • 10 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft missiles.

“The enemy attacked Ukrainian energy facilities in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Unfortunately, there were casualties as a result of the Russian attack,” the Air Force said.
