The nature of Russian attacks on Kyiv is changing — the enemy is increasingly directing drones toward residential areas of the capital. The information was shared by Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko.
According to him, during the night of October 26, enemy drones struck four locations in the Desnianskyi, Obolonskyi, and Darnytskyi districts. All the strikes targeted purely residential areas.
The most severe situation occurred in the Desnianskyi district, where a Shahed drone hit a nine-story apartment building, destroying several floors between levels. Three people were killed, including a mother and her 19-year-old daughter. At least 26 people were injured, among them five children. Rescuers, volunteers, and psychologists have been working at the scene throughout the night.
Another 16-story building in the same district suffered heavy damage — the blast wave shattered windows and destroyed apartments. At least five people were injured there, including two children, the youngest just four years old. A kindergarten in the area was also damaged, with more than 70 windows shattered.
In the Darnytskyi district, a drone damaged a private residential area, destroying at least one car. In the Obolonskyi district, debris from a drone struck a high-rise building, though no casualties were reported.
In total, 31 people were injured, including seven children, and three were killed. Seven people have been hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
Emergency coordination centers have been set up at 40 Bratislavska Street and 65/1 Honore de Balzac Street. “Points of Invincibility” are operating in nearby schools — Nos. 276, 300, 301, 308, 313 — as well as in School No. 218 and Kindergarten No. 102 in the Lisovyi district.
“These are very difficult days, especially for the left bank. Today, our utility workers, management companies, and volunteers are again working to eliminate the consequences. I want to thank everyone who is on site and helping people,” Tkachenko said.
