On February 25, Russian troops attempted to break through into Ukrainian territory near the village of Novenke in Sumy region, but were repelled.

The enemy’s assault group consisted of two mechanized units, Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff spokesman Dmytro Lykhoviy told Interfax-Ukraine.

“On February 25, the enemy stormed this section of the border with up to two mechanized units, crossed the state border of Ukraine, but was blocked and thrown back to the territory of the Russian Federation. Further, Russian troops continue to attempt assault operations, now with infantry groups,” the spokesman said.

The General Staff noted that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are taking measures to prevent the enemy from cutting off Ukrainian logistics.
