        Russia strikes Ukrainian Railways infrastructure and energy facilities in Poltava and Sumy

        On the night of October 7, Russian occupiers once again struck Ukraine’s energy and railway infrastructure. The Poltava and Sumy regions were subjected to massive attacks.

        This was reported by the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba.

        In Poltava, the locomotive depot, power supply facilities, and traction substations were hit. Administrative and storage facilities and rolling stock were damaged. Fires broke out, but have already been extinguished. There were no casualties.

        “Due to the attack, trains between Kharkiv and Lviv, Lviv and Kharkiv, and Kramatorsk and Lviv were temporarily delayed, but they are now all running,” the statement said.

        The strikes damaged an energy facility, leaving more than a thousand homes in Poltava and surrounding settlements without power.

        In Sumy, damage to residential buildings and power outages in part of the city were reported.

        According to Ihor Kalchenko, head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, Russian strike UAVs attacked Sumy this morning. The occupiers targeted a civilian infrastructure facility in the Zarechny district of the city. There is damage, particularly in the residential sector. There are also partial power outages.
