Russian forces carried out several attacks on Zaporizhzhia overnight on August 19. One person was killed and six others were injured in a drone strike, according to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration head Ivan Fedorov.

Russian drones damaged residential and non-residential buildings. Fires broke out at the impact sites, and emergency crews continue to deal with the aftermath.
At dawn, the Russian military struck the city again, this time using a guided aerial bomb. A private house was destroyed and a fire broke out in one of Zaporizhzhia’s districts.
The blast wave and debris also damaged nearby homes and outbuildings. Initial reports suggested that a person might be trapped beneath the rubble, but Fedorov later said this information had not been confirmed.
