Russian forces struck the grounds of a school in Sumy on September 29. Around 40 students were inside the school’s shelter at the time of the attack.

The school sustained significant damage in the strike. Windows and doors were blown out, and walls were destroyed.
A school employee said around 40 students were in the shelter when the strike hit. According to preliminary information, none of the children were injured.
Emergency services are working at the scene.
Explosions were heard in Sumy at around 3:35 p.m. Shortly beforehand, Ukraine’s Air Force had warned of guided aerial bombs heading toward the city.
Video published by local Telegram channels shows the moment the guided aerial bomb struck the school as children were running to the shelter.
