Two people were killed and at least eight were injured in a Russian attack on Kyiv overnight on September 24. Residential, administrative and non-residential buildings, vehicles and medical facilities were damaged in several districts of the capital.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said Russian forces used ballistic missiles to attack the capital. Damage was recorded in at least five districts.
According to the State Emergency Service, warehouse buildings in the Solomianskyi district were partially destroyed. A fire broke out after the strike and spread to basement premises. Three injured people were hospitalised.
In the Podilskyi district, four vehicles caught fire after a strike near a maternity hospital. The body of one person was found at the scene. At another location, a one-storey non-residential building caught fire.
“At the maternity hospital in the Podilskyi district, near which missile debris fell, windows and part of the building’s facade were damaged. According to preliminary information, no one was injured at the medical facility. One person was killed in the parking area near the medical facility,” Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko wrote.
He also said windows and part of the facade of the maternity hospital were damaged, as well as a nearby clinical diagnostic centre.
In addition, according to Klitschko, debris fell into the courtyard of a 16-storey residential building in the Dniprovskyi district, while a missile fragment fell onto a roadway in the Darnytskyi district.
Debris also fell on non-residential areas in the Solomianskyi and Podilskyi districts.
In the Dniprovskyi district, a three-storey administrative building was damaged and one person was injured there. At another location, a private house was destroyed, one person was rescued, and two neighbouring houses were damaged.
