Russia carried out four massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy and gas infrastructure in October and early November, launching more than 150 missiles and more than 2,000 strike drones. Power generation, transmission, and distribution facilities were targeted.
This was reported by Ukrenergo.
“Adopting a scorched earth tactic on the front lines, the enemy decided to implement it in its attacks on the Ukrainian power grid. Power plants, high-voltage substations, and distribution network facilities have become targets for Russian strikes. At the same time, the number of weapons launched at each specific target is truly enormous,” said Vitaliy Zaychenko, chairman of the board of NEC Ukrenergo.
He added that energy workers get to work immediately after each strike, as soon as the security situation allows, and work practically around the clock.
According to Ukrenergo, the restoration of the power system is ensured thanks to the experience of Ukrainian energy workers, international support with equipment and materials, and the construction of anti-drone shelters at key facilities.
