Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi published a post on his 51st birthday outlining his own vision of how the war could end and what strategy Ukraine should pursue against Russia.
In his view, the war will end only when the aggressor loses the ability to finance it, produce weapons, protect its rear, replenish its forces with manpower and maintain internal stability.
Brovdi began the post by reflecting on his age and recalling his father’s words that “life consists of small things and details, while the essence is hidden in nuances.”
According to him, Russia shows no intention of stopping the war, but the current confrontation has a fundamental difference from previous historical periods.
“This is the first war in modern history in which Ukrainians are fighting not on Russia’s side, but against it. Defending their own people and what is theirs,” Brovdi wrote.
The USF commander named five conditions under which, in his view, Russia would physically lose the ability to continue the war. These are the inability to pay for the war, produce weapons, protect its rear, send manpower to the front and maintain the illusion of stability and control inside the country.
For this reason, Brovdi considers the only acceptable strategy to be the “systematic asymmetric attrition of the Russian Federation” through the gradual dismantling of these five pillars of Russia’s war machine.
At the same time, he warned that the situation could become even more difficult for Ukraine.
“It will be harder than it has been. Let us fight with intellect and mathematics,” the commander wrote.
Among Ukraine’s main advantages, Brovdi named the intellect of the nation, technological superiority in certain areas, the desire for historical justice and freedom, as well as the broadest possible involvement of society.
According to him, the war has already returned to the territory from which Russian aggression originated.
“The war has already returned to where it came from — from ‘Kyiv in three days,’ across the fence and into the guts of the worm,” Brovdi wrote.
He also addressed his team separately, describing the current phase of the war as “purgatory and retribution.”
“I order everyone to live and destroy the worm! Back to work, gentlemen,” the USF commander concluded.
