On the night of May 7, Russian occupiers attacked Ukrainian settlements with four ballistic missiles and 142 drones, half of which were “suicide drones.” Dozens more drones remain in the sky.
This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Kyiv was attacked twice by the Russians. First, the Russian Federation launched a ballistic strike, and in the morning, drones flew over the capital.
“All services are currently on site, helping people. At this time, seven people are known to have been wounded, including four children. Unfortunately, there are fatalities – a woman and her son. My condolences to their families and loved ones,” Zelenskyy wrote.
The attack on Ukraine has been ongoing since the evening of May 6, with explosions heard in Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
“After the Russian ballistic missile strike on Velyka Chernechchyna in the Sumy region, the Russians began to use aerial bombs and shelled the area. This happened while rescue operations were underway,” the statement said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that only increased pressure on Russia and tougher sanctions can open the way to diplomacy. According to him, for the sake of lasting peace, it is necessary to use all measures that deprive the aggressor of resources to wage war.
