        Russia Attacks Kyiv Overnight With Ballistic Missiles: Two Injured, Fires Break Out in Two Districts

        Russia attacked Kyiv overnight on July 8 with ballistic missiles and strike drones. Two people were injured in the attack, one of whom was hospitalized, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

        The air raid alert in the capital continued amid the threat of ballistic missiles and approaching Russian strike drones. Tkachenko urged Kyiv residents to remain in shelters until the all-clear.

        According to the State Emergency Service, fires broke out in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi and Desnianskyi districts after the missile strike.

        In the Sviatoshynskyi district, an administrative building and warehouse premises caught fire. Two people were injured there, and one of them was hospitalized.

        At another location in the same district, a garage cooperative caught fire. The blaze was extinguished. The attack also damaged an administrative building and trams.

        In the Desnianskyi district, rescuers reported a fire at warehouse premises.

        Klitschko had earlier said that a fire in the Desnianskyi district broke out after a missile hit, while a non-residential building caught fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

        Fires at other locations have been localized. Rescuers and all relevant services are working at the scene.
