On October 5, a projectile fell near the Palanca–Maiaky–Udobne border crossing, ricocheted off the ground and struck a passenger bus. A Moldovan Border Police officer suffered minor injuries in the incident.

The incident occurred at around 9:38 a.m. amid Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. The projectile fell near the Palanca border crossing, ricocheted after hitting the ground and struck a passenger bus that was standing near the barrier.
The bus and a control booth were damaged in the impact. One Border Police officer was lightly injured.
Operations at the Palanca–Maiaky–Udobne border crossing were temporarily suspended.
Road traffic in Moldova was also temporarily halted from the intersection of the R30 and R31 roads in the Ștefan Vodă district towards the village of Palanca. The restriction will remain in place until the documentation and examination of the incident site are completed.
Moldova’s Border Police, together with the Customs Service, continues to monitor the situation and remains in contact with the competent Ukrainian authorities.
People were urged to avoid travelling to the area. If they hear sounds characteristic of drones or explosions near the border, they are advised to move to a safe place and rely only on official information.
