Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk came to the defense of Volodymyr Zelenskyy after US President Donald Trump said that it is the Ukrainian leader, not Russia, who is allegedly blocking a peace deal.

In a post on X, Tusk stressed that it was Russia, not Ukraine, that rejected the peace plan prepared by the United States. According to him, Moscow’s only response has been further missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, which is why the only solution is to increase pressure on Russia.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin agreed with Trump’s statement that Zelenskyy is slowing down the process of settling the war. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin allegedly remains open to a settlement and that Moscow’s position is well known to both Washington and Kyiv.

Peskov also said that, in the Kremlin’s view, the situation for Kyiv is worsening by the day and that the time has come for Zelenskyy to make decisions.

Earlier, Trump said that Putin is ready to end the war, while Zelenskyy, according to him, is more reserved on the issue of a peace settlement.
