The National Police is investigating abuses by Ukrzaliznytsia officials that caused an artificial shortage of tickets for international routes.
According to the police, a group of employees of one of Ukrzaliznytsia’s divisions manipulated the sale of tickets for international transportation, which led to financial losses and complicated passengers’ access to popular flights.
Investigative actions are being conducted in several areas: at the suspects’ residences, in the company’s offices, as well as on international trains during their departure and arrival. Employees of the corporate security department of Ukrzaliznytsia are involved in the operation.
Law enforcement officials urged passengers to be understanding of any inconvenience caused by the investigation. Details of the case are expected to be made public after the investigation is completed.
