Ukraine will receive a new batch of Starlink terminals from Poland to ensure stable communication at the front. In total, Warsaw handed over 24,400 such devices in 2024, and in 2025 plans to spend another 186.8 million zlotys (over UAH 2 billion) on the purchase and maintenance of new terminals.
This was reported by Puls Biznesu with reference to Polish Minister of Digitalization Krzysztof Gawkowski.
Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland, said that Poland will soon increase the number of Starlink terminals provided to Ukraine to ensure communication in times of war.
According to Gawkowski, the service is critical to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The number of devices is not specified.
It is known that as of the end of 2024, Poland handed over 24,400 Starlink terminals from Elon Musk’s SpaceX to Ukraine. In November 2024, a new batch of terminals was ordered and is gradually being delivered to Ukraine. Poland is lending the terminals, an approach that avoids tax and legal complications.
“Poland supplies the Internet to Ukrainian society and the army. Thanks to Starlink, Ukraine is successfully holding the frontline,” Gavkovsky said.
The cost of maintenance and purchase of new terminals by Poland in 2024 amounted to 120.66 million zlotys (more than 1.2 billion hryvnias), and in 2025 it is planned to spend 186.8 million zlotys (2 billion hryvnias).
Earlier, the media reported that the United States had allegedly warned Ukraine about the possible disconnection of Starlink if a deal on fossil fuels was not concluded. In response, Poland said that it was a party to the agreement, so its cancellation seems unlikely.
