On Monday, August 11, much of Ukraine will find itself in the rear sector of a cold atmospheric front, meteorologist Nataliya Didenko has reported. This will bring a drop in temperatures by a few degrees: +21–27°C is expected in the west, north, centre and even parts of the east, with some eastern areas reaching up to +29°C. In the south, hot conditions will persist, with highs of +29–32°C.
Rain and thunderstorms are forecast overnight and in the morning across western, northern and central regions. By the afternoon, most areas will be dry and sunny, with only the Left Bank likely to see isolated thunder showers. Thunderstorms are also expected this evening in the west.
Didenko warns of strong northwesterly winds on Monday, with occasional gale-force gusts. Only western regions will experience more moderate breezes.
In Kyiv, Sunday night into Monday will bring rain and thunderstorms, but the day of August 11 will be dry and sunny, with highs of +22–24°C.
Looking ahead, Didenko says the coming week will feel truly summery — warm and even hot — and that by the end of August, rainfall will be scarce. “Our only hope is for much cooler nights. Harmony can be found everywhere,” she added.
