On the night and morning of 23 December, Russia carried out its ninth massive attack on Ukraine’s power grid since the beginning of the year. Consumers in several regions were left almost completely without power.
This was announced by Artem Nekrasov during a briefing. According to him, as of the morning, consumers in the Rivne, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi regions were almost completely without power, and power outages were also reported in the Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions. Emergency repair work will begin as soon as the security situation allows.
In the Odesa region, the consequences of several consecutive massive strikes on the energy infrastructure are still being eliminated, and a significant number of consumers remain without electricity. Due to the rocket and drone attack, emergency power cuts have been implemented throughout Ukraine, while the hourly schedules of regional power companies are temporarily suspended and will be resumed after the situation in the power system stabilises.
