The 12th stage of the 2025 Diamond League season took place in Silesia, Poland, where the main event was the women’s high jump competition. Ukraine was represented by two athletes – world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh and silver medallist of the national championship Kateryna Tabashnyk.
Mahuchikh, for whom this was already the sixth start of the season, confirmed her status as the main favourite in the discipline. She confidently cleared all the key heights and ultimately became the only one to clear the bar at 2.00 m. This jump brought her another gold medal in the series. Her main rival, Australian Nicola Olislagers, stopped at 1.97 m and won silver, while Germany’s Imke Onnen rounded out the top three with a result of 1.91 m.
For Kateryna Tabashnyk, the competition in Silesia was her first in the Diamond League this year. She cleared the bar at 1.88 m and finished sixth. Despite the modest result, the Ukrainian’s appearance at the stage after a long break was an important signal of her return to the international arena.
In Silesia, Mahuchikh continued her successful series of performances in the 2025 season. She has already won in Xiamen and Shanghai, China, and took silver in Paris and Stockholm. The only exception was London, where the Ukrainian athlete failed to win a medal for the first time in three years.
