The Kremlin said the negotiating process is moving toward ending the war in Ukraine, although no specific timeline has been given. At the same time, Moscow says a new round of trilateral talks involving Ukraine, the United States and Russia could take place as early as mid-November.

This was stated by Vladimir Putin’s aide Yuriy Ushakov in an interview with “Vesti”.

“I don’t know how close we are getting, but things are moving in that direction,” Ushakov said when asked about the prospects for ending the war.

According to him, a new round of trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine could take place in Abu Dhabi around the middle of November.

“We are looking at Abu Dhabi… There was an understanding that it would probably be sometime in mid-November, around the 10th of November,” he said.

It has not yet been determined who will represent Russia at the talks. According to Ushakov, Putin will make the decision. The meeting is expected to be held again at the expert level.

The Russian side says the main topic will be a future security system for Ukraine and Russia after the war ends.

Ushakov also claimed that all sides are ready for a possible trilateral meeting between Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the APEC summit in Shenzhen.

“All the leaders have confirmed their readiness for such a meeting, and it has indeed been worked out by experts. It is also necessary for all the leaders to be in the same place at the same time,” he said.

At the same time, Putin’s aide acknowledged that even a meeting of the three leaders would not immediately resolve all issues related to the war.

“How can everything be resolved at once? Even if the meeting lasts one hour, two hours, five hours, it will still be impossible to solve all the problems,” Ushakov said.

Meanwhile, Moscow and Washington are discussing economic projects. Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev said the sides are engaged in an active dialogue on energy, technology and, in particular, the creation of data centers for artificial intelligence.

Ushakov also said that economic projects were discussed “very specifically” during talks between Putin and Steve Witkoff. According to him, Moscow has a large list of major proposals for cooperation with the United States, while sanctions against Lukoil are also among the issues being discussed.

Earlier, “Glavnoe in Ukraine” reported that Steve Witkoff said during his meeting with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg that there had been “progress” in peace talks and that a ceasefire could be possible. He also proposed resuming trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the United States and Russia.

It was also reported that, following Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Steve Whitcoff, the Kremlin announced Russia’s readiness to resume trilateral talks involving Ukraine and the United States in the first half of November. Moscow identified the establishment of a security framework for Ukraine and Russia following the end of the war as the main topic of the potential talks.
