Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov was asked today about the deaths of nine children in a strike on Kryvyi Rih. He replied that ‘the Russian military strikes exclusively at military targets’.
The question about the dead children was asked by a journalist during a briefing by the press secretary of the Russian president. She noted that the deaths of nine children had been confirmed and asked Peskov to respond to what had happened. He recommended that she rely solely on the statements of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
‘No strikes have been carried out on social facilities or social infrastructure,’ Peskov added.
Meanwhile, France24 TV channel showed footage from CCTV cameras installed in a restaurant in Kryvyi Rih, which was hit by Russian troops on the evening of 4 April.
The Russian Ministry of Defence announced that the missile was fired at the restaurant, where a ‘meeting with unit commanders and Western instructors’ was taking place. However, the media found out that the restaurant was hosting a forum for beauty industry employees that day.

The footage shown to France24 does not show any military personnel. The TV channel’s correspondent spoke to two women who were in the restaurant at the time of the attack and were hospitalised with injuries. They confirmed that they were participating in a ‘beauty forum’.
