Kharkiv city authorities are calling on the Ukrainian government, twin cities, international partners and financial institutions to help rebuild the city, which has suffered significant damage due to Russian aggression.
This was announced by Mayor Igor Terekhov during a national telethon on 8 December.
According to the mayor, it is planned to restore 100 residential buildings damaged by Russian attacks this year.
‘Kharkiv has suffered serious damage, and the total amount of damage is about €10 billion. No city can overcome such consequences on its own. We are doing everything possible to ensure that the recovery goes as quickly as possible, because people need to have housing and the opportunity to return home,’ Terekhov emphasised.
The city authorities continue to work to restore infrastructure, but to achieve greater results, Kharkiv needs the support of the international community.
