Hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles: Ukrainian Air Force reports on Russian night attack

On the night of 16 July, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Ukraine, using Iskander-M ballistic missiles and up to 400 drones, including approximately 255 Shahed drones. 

The main strikes were on Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv and Vinnytsia, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

As of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed 198 enemy drones. Another 145 UAVs were lost/suppressed by electronic warfare.

One missile and 57 drones were recorded hitting 12 locations across the country. Debris was also recorded falling in two locations.


On the night of 16 July, Russian troops launched air strikes on Ukrainian regions and cities. In particular, Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia and Kharkiv were attacked.

In Kryvyi Rih, an industrial enterprise was destroyed as a result of a night attack by a Russian ballistic missile and 28 drones. A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in the abdomen.

Meanwhile, in Vinnytsia, the Russians hit civilian industrial infrastructure, resulting in eight casualties. In addition, residential buildings were hit in the Vinnytsia region.

In Kharkiv, strikes hit a civilian enterprise in the Kyiv district. Three casualties are currently known.
