Russian troop losses in September 2026 amounted to 46,230 personnel. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this was the highest monthly figure since the beginning of the year.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
The General Staff provided the monthly figures for Russian troop losses over the first nine months of 2026:
- January — 31,710;
- February — 26,090;
- March — 31,960;
- April — 32,980;
- May — 33,760;
- June — 39,290;
- July — 42,860;
- August — 42,020;
- September — 46,230.
Thus, compared with January, when Russian troop losses amounted to 31,710 personnel, the September figure increased by 14,520 servicemen, or 45.8%.
The General Staff noted that the September figure exceeded the previous peak levels recorded during the summer campaign.
The Ukrainian command attributes this trend to the increased accuracy and effectiveness of fire strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces against Russian units.
