The death toll from a Russian drone attack on a passenger train in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region has risen to four. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strike should be regarded as an act of terrorism against civilians.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that four people were killed after Russian strike drones hit a passenger train in the Kharkiv region. According to him, the train was attacked by three drones.

Zelenskyy stressed that in any country in the world, a drone strike on a civilian train would be classified solely as terrorism, as there can be no military objective in killing civilians. More than 200 people were on board the train, and 18 passengers were in the carriage that was directly hit by one of the drones.

As of now, four people are confirmed dead. Rescue workers are still searching for four others, while two passengers were injured. Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed.

He emphasized that Russia must be held accountable not only for individual strikes, but also for maintaining the capability to carry out such attacks. According to Zelenskyy, Russia is deliberately investing in the expansion of its capacity to kill and terrorize.

The president said progress in protecting human life is possible through pressure on Russia, punishment for its actions and continued support for Ukraine, thanking all those who refuse to remain silent in the face of Russian terror.
