US President Donald Trump called the meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which took place on October 17 at the White House, very interesting and sincere.

Donald Trump wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.

According to Trump, he told the Ukrainian president, as he had told Russian dictator Putin the day before, that it was time to stop the killings and make a deal.

“Enough blood has been shed, property lines are determined by war and courage. They must stop where they are. Let both sides declare victory, let history decide! No more shooting, no more deaths, no more huge and irrational waste of money. This war would never have started if I were president. Thousands of people are dying every week — enough is enough, go home to your families in peace,” Trump wrote.

After the meeting at the White House, Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a briefing and said that he had discussed air defense issues with Trump.

“I want to thank President Trump for the invitation and the meeting. We had a long and productive meeting, and we had a wide range of issues to discuss. We talked about air defense, literally right now, as we speak, many drones are attacking Ukraine,” said the Ukrainian president.

According to Zelenskyy, they also talked about long-range weapons, but decided not to discuss this publicly.

“The US does not want escalation, so we decided that we would do without answers to this,” explained the Ukrainian leader.

Trump also told Zelenskyy about his dialogue with Putin regarding the summit in Budapest.

“We talked about Budapest, President Trump told us about his dialogue with the Russian side. All the signals from the Russians are not new to us, but we are counting on Trump, on his pressure on Putin, to stop this war,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president called the issue of territories the most difficult and sensitive.

“The Russians would really like to occupy the entire territory. But before the ceasefire, it is necessary to reach some agreement on territories and other aspects. I think it is important to take the first step – a ceasefire,” the Ukrainian president said.
