Finland is preparing its 34th defence assistance package for Ukraine, worth around €290 million. It will include equipment urgently requested by Ukraine. It is the second-largest package Finland has delivered since the start of the war.

This was reported by the Finnish Ministry of Defence.

The decision was made on September 15 by the President of Finland on the proposal of the government. The total value of defence materiel Finland has already delivered to Ukraine has reached €3.6 billion.

“Finland continues to support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia’s unlawful aggression. Throughout the war, we have provided Ukraine with materiel assistance based on its needs,” Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen said.

According to him, in addition to donating materiel from its stockpiles, Finland is purchasing products from its own defence industry, some of which are also included in the new package.

“Ukraine is in the fifth year of its defensive struggle. We support Ukraine because it is morally right to do so, and because this is about the security of all of Europe — and therefore about the security of Finland as well,” Finnish President Alexander Stubb wrote on X.

Details about the contents of the package, the method of delivery and the delivery schedule are not being disclosed for security reasons.
