Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense is already working together with SpaceX to resolve the issue of Starlink being used on Russian drones. This was announced by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

The Ministry of Defense responded swiftly to reports of Russian drones using Starlink communications over Ukrainian cities. According to Mykhailo Fedorov, within hours of detecting these incidents, the ministry’s team contacted SpaceX and proposed ways to address the problem.

The minister thanked SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and Elon Musk for their rapid response and for starting work to resolve the situation.

He also recalled that Elon Musk’s decision to urgently activate Starlink and send the first batch of terminals to Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale invasion was critically important for the country’s resilience.

Mykhailo Fedorov stressed that Western technologies should continue to support the democratic world and protect civilians, rather than be used for terror and the destruction of peaceful cities.
