Speaking during a briefing at the White House, Donald Trump said he personally asked Vladimir Putin not to carry out strikes on Kyiv and other towns for a period of one week. Trump stated that Putin agreed to do so.
Meanwhile, today several Russian Telegram channels reported that Russian military forces had allegedly received orders to refrain from attacks on Kyiv and Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. It was also claimed that a similar condition banning strikes on Russian energy facilities allegedly applies to the Ukrainian side.
There has been no official confirmation of a so-called “energy ceasefire” from either the Russian or Ukrainian authorities.
At the same time, the founder of the Kraken special unit, Kostiantyn Nemichev, confirmed the existence of an energy ceasefire, writing that it appears to be in effect on both sides and adding that it remains to be seen how it will be implemented.
