Emergency rescue operations have been completed in Sumy after the morning Russian shelling. Four people were killed and 28 others were injured as a result of the MLRS strikes. Three children were among the injured.
Rescuers were working at seven locations at once, the State Emergency Service reported.
“In the damaged houses, they temporarily restored the broken windows and the roof in a high-rise building. The SES sappers inspected the areas and removed the remains of explosive devices,” the statement said.
Psychologists and medics of the State Emergency Service helped and supported the citizens.
The occupiers hit the centre of Sumy with a multiple launch rocket system, attacking densely populated areas of the city.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the attack “brutal”, noting that one of the shells pierced the wall of a residential high-rise building but did not explode. According to him, this is further proof of Russia’s intention to continue the war against Ukraine.
