According to the latest report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi as of 4:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday, Russian forces continue to escalate their use of heavy weaponry. From the beginning of the day until 4:00 p.m., there have been 46 Russian assault attempts across various frontline directions and a total of 901 shelling incidents, 448 of which involved heavy weapons. Over 400 FPV drone attacks by Russian forces have already been recorded.
The highest level of Russian combat activity today has been observed in the Pokrovsk direction. Meanwhile, Putin’s words about a “ceasefire” have proven empty when it comes to areas such as the Kursk region, the Siverskyi axis, and other parts of Donetsk region.
Unfortunately, Ukrainian forces encountered a Russian ambush in the Toretsk direction. There are casualties. The Russian troops responsible for the attack will be eliminated.
President Zelenskiy stressed that the Ukrainian army is acting and will continue to act in a strictly mirrored manner. “This Easter clearly proved that the only source of war and the reason for its prolongation is Russia,” he said. Ukraine remains ready to move toward peace and a full, unconditional, and honest ceasefire that could last at least 30 days. However, Russia has not yet responded. The situation on the frontline shows the urgent need for international pressure on Moscow and effective oversight of the occupying forces in order to achieve real silence.
