On the night of February 18, the Russian Hmeymim air base in Syria was attacked by drones. This was reported by the OSINT researcher SyrianOSINT, as well as by Russian and Syrian publics.
The organizers of the attack are still unknown. At the same time, Russian military blogger Oleg Blokhin said that the Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, recognized as a terrorist group in Russia, may be behind the attack.
This is the first attack on Russian military facilities in Syria in several months.
